✉ STRAITS SETTLEMENTS. 1881. SINGAPORE to MARSEILLE. Envelope franked 35c. Sage, cancelled LIGNE N. PAQ. FR. No.3 cds on board the ss ´Yangtse´ en route Colombo to Singapore. Addressed to MARSEILLE. Off-loaded Singapore and placed aboard the P.O. ´Rosetta´. Transferred at Alexandria to the ´Bangalore´ for Brindisi and thence by rail to destination. On the back SINGAPORE/PAID cds. and MARSEILLE cds. RARE.

✉ TRINIDAD. 1806 (Aug 8). FRENCH OCCUPATION. Entire letter from TRINIDAD during the Napoleonic Wars to BRIGNOLLES, France datelined inside ´Isle de Trinité, 8 Aout 1806´ and struck on arrival with COLONIES PAR/BORDEAUX in black and charged 12 decimes due. A rare and interesting entire. Trinidad was awarded to Britain after the Treaty of Amiens at the end of the War.

✉ TRINIDAD. 1870 (8 Febrero). TRINIDAD to PHILADELPHIA. Folded cover send via St. Thomas with red ´Lamb & Co. St. Thomas W.I´ fowarder´s double oval handstamp (struck on front and back) and US. 10 cts. yellow stamp tied by N. YORK STEAMSHIP circular datestamp. Very fine and rare use from Trinidad to the U.S. via St. Thomas. Cert. PF´2015.

✉ TRINIDAD. 1873 (Aug 26). Cover endorsed ´Via Panama´ addressed to ´Admiral Cochrane, Commander in Chief, Pacific Station´ ( located in Valparaiso) franked by (1d.) carmine and 4d. grey cancelled by Trinidad cds in black. Cover then docketed (at Panama ?) and noted as for ´Ship Repulse´. Reverse with St. Thomas transit cds (Sept 2) and manuscript ´4´ (pence) of split rate. A very rare and appealing cover. Ex collection Sir John Marriott.

✉ ZANZIBAR. Sg. D21. 1933. Underpaid cover from INDIA franked on reverse with 2a. purple tied by BOMBAY FOREIGN cds (Jan 13), front with large ´T.10 Cents´ handstamp in black and taxed on arrival with 1930/33 Postage Due 6c. black on yellow tied by REG. / ZANZIBAR cds (Feb 7) in black. Scarce.

✉ GRECIA. Ce. 14+16. 1862 (Aug 26). Cover to GENOA franked by 1853 20c. blue (2) and single 40c. vermilion tied by 5095 gros chiffres, with SALONIQUE-TURQUIE dotted datestamp at right. Red PIROSCAFI-POSTALI-FRANCESI alongside and reverse with Les Dardanelles-Turquie transit (27/8) and arrival cds.

Rare registered entire letter from ZANTE to TRIESTE endorsed ´Col Vapore Austriaco Assicurata´ and struck with hooded oval ZANTE datestamp in green and framed FRANCA; reverse with RECOMANDIRT - TRIEST arrival datestamp (April 4) in black. Rare registered cover from Ionian Islands.

Cover from GUATEMALA CITY to LISBON (Portugal) endorsed ´via Livingston´ franked by Quetzal 1 ct. on ¼ ct. green & brown and 10 ct. on 1 real black & green tied by target handstamps in violet with octagonal despatch datestamp alongside. An attractive and famous usage. Only three covers recorded with the 10 ct. on 1 r. and in this combination, unique.

✉ IRAN. The exceptional collection of covers & cards to overseas destinations: 1948-78. Circa of 800 covers. The well annotated collection of covers/cards sent by air to overseas destinations. The collection inc covers to a wide range of countries and is written up to a high standard giving the postage rates relevant to each cover. The majority are to European destinations but a good number are to the USA and other non European destinations. A large number of adhesives are used inc hospital charity stamps. A small number are registered and some are sent express. A really good modern postal history lot.
